Today marks year two since I started taking photography seriously, whoop whoop.I have this thing that I do a lot, revisiting or as how I called the blog post reliving.Revisiting places just to get those shots right, Creatives are you with me? I am the type of person who does this a lot. This time Giraffe Center is that place. Giraffe Center is a Nairobi Gem, people travel from all over the world just to kiss giraffes. I can’t believe that it took me three years to decide to go. I mean that is sad on my part since I practically live like one hour away from the Center……. For Folks who don’t know how to get there or what Giraffe Center is, Giraffe Center is in Karen, I love what they are about, since 90 percent of the proceeds go to conservation education for school children and the youth of Kenya.
Here are Giraffe facts and a couple of reasons to go see Giraffes.
First of all,
1.They can dance. Don’t believe me just watch the link is attached to the fact.
2.They have a big heart just like me. The heart is two feet long and weighs up to roughly 11.33kgs.
3.They have a 50 centimeter prehensile tongue, Which means they can get stuff using their tongue, meaning if you are couch potato like me you’d prolly use it to take remote control when it’s couches away.
4.Just like how my fingerprint and yours do not match so do giraffe spots. Each giraffe has its own spot.
5.The Giraffe’s anatomy has contributed to space travel. They are the reason for the term ” Lower Body Negative Pressure process ” came to life. Due to this breakthrough astronauts were able to avoid weakening of their veins when they return to earth.
The giraffe center has a nature walk too. I took a couple of portraits and here are some.
Also how cool are suave bags.
There are more facts but I am just lazy and I wont make you read any longer. Till next time.
Here is a giraffe kiss as promised.
xoxo
