DO I NEED A DSLR?

This is a motivational post…. or this is a petty post depends on how you look at it.
“What camera do you use?” “What type of camera do I need to get that kind of shot?” I swear to God I cringe every time person asks that and I bet I am not alone. Sometimes you do not need a DSLR. Sometimes you need to just show up and just take out your smartphone and just shoot.
So I traveled and I challenged myself to stick to mobile photography.I am going to showcase a couple of my favorite images that I have taken from a phone. The series will cover images taken by both android and apple devices just to show you that sometimes you have to show up and shoot your shot.

1. Paris

I could not resist having French Macaroons as I waited for my next flight to Vancouver. I loved the assorted colors and all.

2.Lynn Canyon Park Bridge

A little black and white never hurt no one. Hiking here was amazing reminded me of Rolf’s place’s bridge.

3.Lynn Canyon Pool

The 30 foot pool looks so gorgeous and it was drizzling. I wish I could take a dip but we were in a hurry cause it was raining. Do not ask me about the stranger in frame I do not know him. He refused to move and the shot worked so why not.
4. Grouse Mountain Gondola Ride

Vancouver loves to rain, I insisted that we go to Grouse Mountain but we were warned that the weather was terrible and we would not be able to see the beautiful view of Vancouver but did I listen? Lol Visibility was almost ZERO. Check it out online, the view is to die for when the skyline is clear.

5. Granville Island

Granville island is not an island. I was mad when I found out this, the city tour guide told me Vancouver has a thing for naming things for what they are not. Granville Island is actually peninsula.

6. Granville Shore

As I waited for the ferry I could not help but fall in love with the view of Vancouver.
Here is a bit of waves from false creek.

Vancouver’s China Town is Canada’s largest Chinatown. It is home to Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden which is the first Chinese garden to be built outside China, I will share more photos on my IG I promise.

Last but not least.

To answer the grand question is that Maybe you do need a DSLR maybe you do not. I wish I took time to appreciate the art of composition, how light works instead of rushing to get a DSLR. If you could take to learn and practice more on your phone maybe you do not need one.

Till next time.
Positive vibes and Shea butter
